Painting as the moon
西洋における絵画の歴史は画家と光（闇）の歴史と言えます。
このシリーズでは、絵画における光と闇、明と暗の関係をテーマに「光を奪われた後の世界の見方」を考察しています。
太陽（主題）にとっての月（鏡又は、仲介者）としての絵画は可能か。
光を象徴的に用いたバロック絵画で描かれた天使もまた、天と地を繋ぐ仲介者として描かれています。
画家は、仲介者として存在することはできるのでしょうか。
「記憶のケイショウ」という自身の大きなテーマに向き合うなかで、絵画（太陽）を映し出す虚像としての絵画（月）を描こうと考えました。
これは決して物語の復権を願う行為ではなく、絵画そのものが虚像といえるため、映し出された光の実体の本質を探る行為といえます。
また、西洋絵画をお手本に発展してきた日本洋画を思うと日本の絵画の歴史は西洋絵画（太陽）を映す鏡（月）と言えるかも知れません。
