Trinitite

In this series I endeavor to paint in only black color the war art painted by famous japanese modern painters [Tuguharu Fujita, Ryohei Koiso, Saburo Miyamoto] during World War II.
In Japan it has been a forbidden subject up to date that to be open the war art to the public in museums of Japan.
Is it to forget the history of one’s own war ?

This tendency is often seen not only in art education but also in various educational scenes of Japan.
I gave the difficulty of facing painting through the process of to paint the images with many times of glazing the black layers and explained the difficulty of facing their own history through the act of seeing painting.
The sizes of these works are accurately adjusted to the size of the originals [the war art ].
This is because I aim to feel the physical of the painters of the day and to inherit the memory that must not be forgot.
